Tour Plan

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve

Start your safari with a pick up at 7:00 AM from your Nairobi hotel or Airport and drive to Samburu National park. Arrive Samburu in the afternoon and check in to your lodge/camps, enjoy a hot meal for lunch and rest.

With beautiful landscapes and hundreds of animals, Samburu National Reserve guarantees you a wonderful game viewing. It has a semi-dry desert and savannah landscape, which allows for great visibility over the park and over its river that attracts many animals.

This park is 165 square kilometers big and has huge clouds of elephants roaming around in large families, this is a spectacular park to visit. Follow the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River for the best game viewing. It is the only source of water for many animals, especially during dry seasons. Four of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo) roam around, as well as the Samburu Special Five: Grevy Zebra, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe and the Somali Ostrich.

Day 2: Full day safari in Samburu National Reserve

This day is solely reserved for game viewing, with a flexible schedule plan. You can discuss with your Guide and plan several options.

06:00hrs: - Early morning game drive in Samburu you get the chance to really search for the Big Five. During the day it can be hot, and game viewing is best done in the morning and afternoon. In between you can take a rest at your hotel or lodge, or visit the beautiful Samburu people.

Samburu people are traditionally nomadic tribe related to the Masai. They live in secluded bomas: little villages with a circular wooden fence. Their huts have rounded roofs made out of cowdung, since they are pastoralists with mostly herds of cows, sheep or goats. Especially the Samburu women wear complicated and colourful necklaces and headwear, that they make themselves out of small beads.

As a break in between safaris, it’s possible to visit one of their bomas to get familiar with the traditional life of Samburu people. You will see their houses and learn about their way of life, how their necklaces are made and what the secret messages are inside.

Option 1: - 06:00hrs: - Depart for an early morning game, and later return to your lodge/camp for breakfast and have morning rest at leisure, Have Lunch at your convenient time, and resting until the next game drive at your leisure.

16:00hrs:– Depart on an afternoon game drive.

18:30hrs: – Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Option 2Picnic: you can exit the Lodge/camp for an optional whole day Game drive with picnic lunch to return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the Lodge/camp.

Alternatively, you can have an optional bush dinner in the wild under the African sky.

Day 3: Samburu – Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary

After breakfast drive through the rich and fertile central highland of the Kikuyu countryside, get through to the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya, cross the equator to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary, arrive at Sweetwaters a private ranch and Rhino sanctuary that lies between Mt Kenya and the Aberdares mountains. Arrive in Sweetwaters shortly after noon and check into your lodge/camp, have hot lunch and then rest.

Sweetwaters is famous for to the last two of the Northern white Rhinos that remain in world. Search for both white Rhinos and Black rhinos. Other wildlife includes elephants, lions, buffaloes and other herbivores. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the only one of its kind in Kenya. Here visitors can enjoy the unique opportunity of observing the orphaned chimps that vary in age from 2-15 yrs. Most of these chimps have their originality at the Jane Goodall Institute in Burundi.

18:30hrs: – Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary –Lake Nakuru

After breakfast drive departs towards Lake Nakuru arriving on time for lunch, check-in and enjoy hot meal and rest, before going for an afternoon game drive.

Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for its bird spectacle featuring over a million flamingos (Greater and Lesser). It the home of over 450 migratory bird species from around the world and large flotillas of pelicans and other water birds being the major attractions of the area, the ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals. It is also famous for its population of black and white rhinos, giraffes, buffalos, lions, leopards, baboons. It is easy to spot the rhinos on the edge of the lake.

16:00hrs: - Depart for an afternoon game drive.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara National Park

06:00hrs: - Drive towards these amazingly beautiful savannah plains of the Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch and check in to your lodge/camps, enjoy a hot meal for lunch and rest.

16:00hrs: - After lunch drive for the afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara plains with its abundance of wildlife borders Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and together they are home to Africa’s best known natural wonder: the annual great migration. Over 2,5 million animals roam the plains of Serengeti and the Masai Mara together, following the rains in search of green pastures.

The Reserve is named masai Mara in honor of the Masai people. The Masai (also spelled Maasai) have lived in this region since they migrated from the Nile Basin centuries ago. Mara means spotted in the Maa language and refers to a landscape marked by many short bushy trees scattered all over the outstretched savannah.

18:30hrs: – Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full day safari in Masai Mara National Reserve

This day is solely reserved for game viewing, with a flexible schedule plan. You can discuss with your Guide and plan several options.

The Masai Mara is known for its abundance of wildlife, and today you have a full day to see it all, it is the home to more than 95 animal species and over 400 species of birds. From July - October the great migration arrives here. This means that huge herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, antelopes and impalas can be seen trying to cross the Mara River.

You can spot the famous Big Five in the Masai Mara, as well as cheetahs, servals, hyenas, bat-eared foxes, black-backed or side-striped jackals, hippos, crocodiles, baboons, warthogs, topis, elands, waterbucks, oribis, reed-bucks and many, many more.

Option 1: - 06:00hrs: - Depart for an early morning game, and later return to your lodge/camp for breakfast and have morning rest at leisure, Have Lunch at your convenient time, and resting until the next game drive at your leisure.

16:00hrs:– Depart on an afternoon game drive.

18:30hrs: – Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Option 3 - Visits to a Masai Manyatta can be arranged between you and the driver. Another popular 'excursion' is a romantic hot air balloon trip where you view animals from above and then touch down for an extravagant breakfast in the bush.  I would recommend you book this in advance due to limited space.

Day 7: Masai Mara - Lake Naivasha & Crescent Island

Drive towards Lake Naivasha, arrive in the afternoon and check in to your lodge/camps and enjoy a hot meal for lunch and rest.

Lake Naivaisha lies in the Kenyan Rift Valley at 1,884 meters above sea level and is the highest lake within the Great Rift Valley. It is 139 square kilometers large freshwater lake. Nestled in between swamps, forests and rock formations, Lake Naivasha is the perfect place for an amazing boat safari in between groups of hippos and flamingos! On the shores, you also see here zebras, wildebeests and giraffes. After that you experience walking amongst them as you take a guided walking safari on Crescent Island (the ‘hidden gem of Naivasha’) in the middle of the lake. It is as truly atmospheric place.

Day 8: Lake Naivaisha - Amboseli National Park

Drive towards Amboseli National Park, arrive in the afternoon and check in to your lodge/camps and enjoy a hot meal for lunch and rest.

Amboseli NP lies on the border between Kenya and Tanzania at a seven to eight hour drive from Lake Naivasha. You arrive here just in time for an afternoon game drive at sunset…!. Amboseli stretches over an area of 392 square kilometers and offers a magnificent view of the beautifully snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro. The park is famous for its large groups of elephants herds and it is also home to many other wildlife. Here you will have the chance to take some iconic pictures of elephants in front of the Africa’s highest lone-standing mountain.

18:30hrs: – Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Full day safari in Amboseli National Park

This day is solely reserved for game viewing, with a flexible schedule plan. You can discuss with your Guide and plan several options.

Early morning sunrise game drive,these is the time when animals are most active. This day is reserved completely for game drives, which allows you to explore Amboseli to the fullest. Amboseli is dominated by acacia woodland, rocky thorny bush, swamps marshland and a Pleistocene lake. Wildlife seen here around in good numbers are giraffes, zebras, buffalos, elephants of course and big cats like lions, cheetahs and leopards. During your time in Amboseli, you can also discover Maasai culture by visiting one of their villages.

Day 10: Amboseli -Tsavo West National Park

Drive towards Tsavo West National Park, arrive in the afternoon and check in to your lodge/camps and enjoy a hot meal for lunch and rest.

Tsavo West National park with its green hills, savannah, water and lavarocks from nearby volcanos, the landscape of Tsavo West National Park is very diverse. With its 9,065 square kilometers it is huge and home to all of the Big Five and other wildlife like giraffes, zebras, antilopes and many different birds species.

Tsavo West is famous for the Shetani Lava Flows, with kilometers of volcanic black rock spread over the land. Also the Mzima Springs are worth a visit; a series of four natural springs with crystal clear water that gushes out of from under parched lava rock. Hippos and crocs enjoy the clear, fresh water of Mzima Springs, they are easily spotted.

Day 11: Tsavo West -Tsavo East National Park

Drive towards Tsavo East National Park, arrive in the afternoon and check in to your lodge/camps and enjoy a hot meal for lunch and rest.

The Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West are seperated from each other by the high- and railway that connect the coastal town of Mombasa to the capital city Nairobi. It is impressive and huge with its 13,000 square kilometers in size. It’s mostly famous for its many lions and elephants. Here you drive the outstretched savannah of the Yatta Plateau. En route you pass a spectacular amount of other animals. All members of the Big Five live here, together with zebras, African wild dogs, cheetahs, antilopes, impalas and more.

There are a few spots in Tsavo that are perfect for admiring wildlife: Madunda Rock, Lugard Falls and the Aruba Dam. The 1,6 kilometers rock formation of Madunda allows for great viewing of animals drinking below. Lugard Falls is not an actual waterfall but a series of rapid waters that are filled with hippos and crocs. The Aruba Dam creates a waterbassin in the Voi River that is a favorite drinking spot for many animals. Tsavo East National Park basically has it all!

18:30hrs: – Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 12 - 15: - Tsavo East National Park - Mombasa Diani Beach

After breakfast drive towards Mombasa Diani Beach, arrive late in the afternoon and retire to your designated Resort. Diani beach its lies 20 kilometers south of Mombasa. The beach is 15 kilometers long stretch of beach line, with rows of coconut trees, white powdery sand, amazing sunsets, beautiful resorts, high-class restaurants, Scuba diving and water sport centers. Diani Beach basically has it all

Use your days to go scuba diving or snorkeling, kite surfing, windsurfing, do boat rides or go jet skiing. And of course you can just relax on the beach, take your cocktail and enjoy the sunsets…! Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 16: Time to catch your flight home

Visit famous Old Town 20 km from Diani, ocean view, abundant markets and several historic sites. Mombasa is much smaller than Nairobi, but its merchants atmosphere, old buildings, cobblestone streets and Arabic influences make for a totally different experience…!

As all good things come to an end, today is the day you fly back home. Enjoy your last hours on the beautiful Diani Beach before our guide takes you to Nairobi location or at the Airport for your flight back home.
